It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the Executive Committee of the Government College Umuahia Old Boys Association (GCUOBA) UK & Ireland announces the passing of our distinguished Old Boy, and dedicated member, *Dr. Nwachukwu Nwabineli (Class of ’59)* who peacefully passed into eternal glory over the weekend.
Dr. Nwabineli was a committed Umuahian whose warmth, friendship, and unwavering support for our Association touched the lives of many. We remember with great fondness and deep gratitude the especially warm hospitality extended by Dr. Nwachukwu and his beloved wife, Dr. Mrs. Betty Nwabineli, when they graciously hosted our Ordinary General Meeting in their Newcastle home on 15th March 2025. His passing is a tremendous loss to GCUOBA UK & Ireland, the Government College Umuahia family worldwide, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
On behalf of the Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, and the entire membership of GCUOBA UK & EIRE, we extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Betty, his children, family, friends, classmates, and loved ones during this difficult time.
We pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and gives his family the strength, comfort, and grace to bear this irreparable loss.
